Hi guys, I'm a new member...

Well I found this board and they look to know what ya'll are talking about...so here it goes...

I seen a check-mate boat at our local dock...

It appears to be maybe 12 feet long with a 25hp Johnson engine on it.

Looks like one of those "offshore" boats...sport boats.

2 seater with a bench seat....my guess is that it is from the mid-80's by the looks of it...

Looks like a fun little boat and I was interested in some info or guesses on what it might be (playmate?)...I'm interested in buying it...

Any pics to help with my search?

Thanks guys:thumb:

If it looks like one of these then its a Playmate GT. If its an 87 there were only 53 of them made. If its an 88 there were only 3 of them made, and we know one of those is in Germany. Its a rare boat, grab it.

cooperrider - It doesn't look that nice...I wish:)

I think the glass is "flat", it doesn't arc around...

It is pretty similar looking...it is probably a basic playmate if there is such a thing...

Any photo galleries with the playmates I could look thru? I could pick it out quick then...

Thanks for the welcomes:cheers

Thanks for the welcomes:cheersWelcome to the board Stang. There have been a few incarnations of the Playmate. There was the offshore style that coop posted the pic of. There was also another version which was previous to the offshore style and there was an original version which came out in the early 70's.

Have a look in the showroom or the gallery and look at the different brochures and see if you can find the one you saw. If it is turns out to be the offshore style there are a number of people that would no doubt be interested in looking at that boat if you're not.
