 I am looking for a bow cover for my starflite. I seen that some people custom make them. I am interested to know what material is used and what steps are needed to make one. Thanks Aaronmt's girlfriend Rachelle

best thing to use is a material called Sunbrella, you can by it almost anywhere. you will need a good sewing machine, some backing material , snaps. maybe someone could post a picture of the back side or go visit any dealer a get an idea houw to do it.

I'm the one who made the bow blanket. It truely is about the handiest item a made for the boat. After 5 or 6 yrs the wife insists we have on board for a day of boating.
It does take some sewing knowledge and ability.Fortunately my sister sews commercially and she took the ball and ran.
To get started is to tape news paper together big enough to make a pattern of 1/2 the bow, you flip the pattern over keeping it center'd for other side.
I cut the pattern to go under the bow rail and flip back over the rail to where meets back on its self. And thats where I ran a strip of good quality of valgro all the way the up both sides. holding it very sercure. And I cut holes where the cleats were and finished the edges.
I'll post some pics very soon. HOPE THIS A START. GOOD LUCK

Yea theres a few thing I would chang.1st I would buy a good fade resist material and one not a so bright,to hide the stains better.I used some old simple flannel type hospital blankets as inner padding Quilting the whole thing together when done. I would now look at 1/2 padding thru out or maybe sew in 2 sun pads 1 on each side of the bow aleast 1'' or 1 1/2'' thick. As of now It folds up now as just an ordinary blanket.
