RUNING HARD IN THE DARK WHILE IMPAIRED IS NEVER A WISE CHOICE. DOING THAT IN ON A INTERNATIONAL WATERWAY WITH CHANNEL MAKERS AND BUOYS LIT AND UNLIT IS EVEN DUMMER. GUESS WHICH ONE I DIDN'T SEE. 17 STICHES TO THE LIP AND BUSTED HAND LATER,LESSON LEARNED. (HOPE THIS LESSON GETS THRU TO SOME OF OUR YOUNG BOATERS).THE BEST PART IS THAT THE BOAT WAS PUT BACK TOGETHER BY A GLASSMAN IN THE AREA AND I USED THE SETTLEMENT MONEY TO PURCHASE MY STARFLITE. A great lesson in deed. Glassman was great to put that back together. WOW.

THE BOTTOM WAS BUSTED UP TOO BUT DID NOT SINK TRIMED IT UP AND CAME ON IN. I,M SURE I JUST LEFT A BLUE MUDGE ON THE MARKER. I,M JUST GLAD I WASN'T IN ONE OF THOSE ULTRA LIGHT HYPER FLIERS. I MIGHT NOT BE HERE IF I WAS. THATS ONE REASON I STUCK WITH CHECKMATE, AMONG MANY

It's amazing how far you can travel between flashes on those buoys, at 60+ your on the next one in a heart beat. I almost had a similar experience when I was younger and stupid, luckly my J-Craft cornered on a dime and I just mised it.
Night time is no place for speed.

I second that F150GT, speed is not the thing for the dark, its unreal how fast the bouys come up on ya.I also ahd a close call, but I am still young and stupid. http://www.checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/devil.gif

I bet that was scary. It could've been a lot worse though. At least you made it in OK.
