My 83 Enticer didn't originally come with a transom ladder for swimming(at least I didn't see one int he 84 brochure). I did notice, however, that the Diplomat did come with a ladder. The two boats are almost the same size(Diplomat has 5" wider beam). Do you think a Diplomat ladder will fit on my Enticer without interfering with the OB? Any opinions please.....
Also, where can I get one?

I dont know if this will help, but my enchanter had one and the max width for the mounting brackets is 14". they probably used the same ladder on all models, and as long as you have 14" of flat area on the deck, it will fit. The motor clearance shouldnt be an issue.

Call checkmate. They will sell you one. I took mine off right away. The guy I bought the boat from had a bungee cord holding it tight because it was so worn out and sloppy!!
THUNDER, I HAVE ONE THAT I JUST TOOK OFF OF MY 83 ENTICER. IT MOUNTED ON LEFT SIDE OF ENGINE WELL AND HAS TOTAL OF 12 SCREWS ATTACHING IT TO HULL I THINK. GIVE ME AN EMAIL ADDRESS AND I WILL SEE IF I CAN GET PICTURES TO YOU. I AM NOT PLANNING TO REINSTALL AFTER I FINISH MY "PROJECT". I AM SURE YOU CAN GET THIS ONE IF YOU WANT IT.

My 82 Enticer did ship with a transom ladder, i beleive it was a option when you purchase new.
I bought mine second hand, but from the marina who sold it for the original owner, he was their accountant. The ladder however was not on the boat, it had broken and not been replaced. I bought the boat on the deal that a new one would be with it. Well they got a new one from checkmate, custom made direct from the company that makes their ladders, since they didnt stock it. The dealer took a bath on that and lost money on the sale.
Teh bill was nearly 700USD for the ladder, plus shipping and all associated costs.
Lets hope you dont need to buy one.
The ladder is connected to the hull of my boat by for mounting bracets. Each uses 4 screws, and a allen key tighter for holding the ladder in the brackets. I had my cover adjusted and leave the ladder on full time.
If you mount a new ladder your self, after drilling out the holes, remember to fill the hole with silicone before mounting the brackets, i even rimmed the brackets with silicone to help ensure no water gets into the holes and into the transome wood.
Good luck.
