on my old 115 merc where would the impeller be? is it rubber, and should i change it once a year?

The impeller is in the lower unit. It has a rubber impeller and a plastic housing.
I change my impeller every year. Kind of over kill but there fairly cheep.
Let me know the year and I can scan and send you the how to from the manual.

(michigan) You wont need the sledgehammer to take the lower off. Once it is off, tha' housing is easy to locate. It wraps the driveshaft. If it is missing fins, make sure to account for all the missing impeller pieces. You dont want a piece to block the passage.

thanks i plan to pull it apart this week. im going to purchase the whole impeller kit with gaskets and all. is there anything else im going to need when i try to put this back together? or anything that would be smart to replace while i have it apart?
