Need help picking a new Prop.

I have a 82 exciter with a 150 merc 2.0. I originally had a 22 pitch 3 blade which turned over 6000 rpm to 57 mph speedo. i recently purchased a 25 laser 2 and it hurt my performance. it turned 5400 rpm at 55 mph speedo.
I recently purchase a 5 1/2 " jack plate for it but havent had the time to put it on.
My question is should i keep the 25 laser 2 for when i put the jack plate on or should i start shopping right away for a 24 or 23 pitch prop. I really like the handleing characteristics of the laser 2 but am open to suggestions if theres another good prop to try. Thanks

I would keep the prop until your jackplate has been installed. Chances are when you raise the motor up enough to see a performance gain the 25 you have now will be closer than you think.
