I figured maybe i would start a thread about problems overcome with your rigs over this season?

I guess I will start.

This was my first year with my starliner so a few fix'its popped up.

1. yamaha speedo lcd shot. ( replaced with a used one)
2. choke primer system did not work.
3. fuel delivery problems ( changed to electric fuel pump best thing i could of ever done.) Cleaned entire fuel system including clogged carb float bowl needles.
4. water pressure gauge hose sprung a leak under the cowl.
5. down trim on remote stopped working ( dissassemble and clean contacts)
6. Bilge pump hose cracked at hull fitting.
7. loose nylon bushings going from trim shock to bracket. ( caused motor to bounce up and down alot at idle speeds.)

Thats all i can think of for now im sure there was a few more minor things.
I guess with the age of this machine i didnt do all that bad. The only thing that irratated me is the primer system not working one time leaving me stuck at the dock trying to get her started!! and a whole lotta people irratated cuz the public ramp was packed!!!! Too bad i found out about the bypass switch after the fact hahaha.

2 primer ball went out.
3 thought the fuel pump was going bad replace and was old and bad.
4 trailer bunk brackets went bad and wood too. replace all wood, bolts, have custom stronger brackets made. and new carpet that matches boat.
5 new rubber roller where the front of the boat sits on the trailer
5 new strap for the hand crank for the trailer
6 finding out your going to need a new floor in future of the boats life.
thats about it i can think of now but all and all great year for boating. and thanks to this site most all proublems overcame thanks

Had some myself, and always at the worst time!
1 July 4th, shredded water pump impeller and motor didn't get warm enough to set off alarm. Burnt all the exhaust hoses and almost started the boat on fire. Luckily had more 4.5" exhaust hose at home because nobody stocks it or is open on Sunday. 3 hours to repair and back on the water for the fireworks.

2 Weekend before Hardy fouled out 3 sets of plugs in a matter of an hour. Rebuilt carb and back running with no problems in less than 24 hours.

3 Keep losing full cans of BEER. Can't figure this one out yet. LOL

All in all a great year!

Bought boat this year. No down time due to breakdowns! After super charger install, I'm still not right on my carb jetting... still lean.

Out drive leaked down,...found cracked O-ring seal in pump

Stepped through rotten wood on trailer w/my foot

I put 35 hours on my boat this year and not 1 nick in a prop... and no down time...great year!!!

1) I burnt out my voltage regulator (water cooled) for a second time......$400.00 to replace....I'm now converting it over to an AC Delco system.

2) Broke a gear in my trailer winch and had to replace it.

Otherwise a problem free season.

I started laughing for a minute and then I realized I have the same problem and stopped laughing. She quit in July with the new baby and doesn't want to leave her at daycare so......

It's OK by me...just gotta watch the spending with only 1 blue collar income...You know , keep the priorities first....Supercharger, props, fuel pumps...stuff like that!

Had lots of boats, none had a running motor. That was my biggest problem this year.
