Kip sent over this sneak peek of a new graphics package Mate is currently developing. That is a 300 in the picture......but Kunkel is ordering a White boat w/Merc Blue flames and putting a 700 HP motor in it......as soon as we get it done i'll have chris post the finished product!

You guys aren't going to believe this but that is kinda close to how I drew my boat up! Flames on the side and deck, wrapping around the bow. The only difference: red/orange/yellow fade with lime green outline. Checkmate is outdoing themselves! You would never see flames on a boat until they did it. looks great- only thing to do different is make the flames look like the used to be together--like a puzzle spread apart --- front to back--i like it though--- maybe checkered flames?? too much maybe??

I hate to be the only guy that doesn't like it.(first post too, sorry) I think flames were cool two years ago. I understand it appeals to this hot rod and motorcycle generation, that has some how hit main stream.... Flames used to be retro. If I was going retro I would have brought out the kickass metalflake checkmate did so well in the 70's and 80's. I guess I'm oldfashion. Although any checkmate is still badass because it's a checkmate.

It's all about choice. Mate will do custom work. So if you want a metal flake boat, you can have it your way as the saying goes. The factory still does lots of metalflake. Hmm, not too sure of the flames, looks a little too gawdy...maybe on a motorbike....I like the flag look by Checkmate, I kinda wish my '96 Pulse had a Checkmate flag design...maybe the flames in a colour other than yellow....

If I were buying I'd get the black with red without an doubt.. With black a big MERC,YAMI or a RUDE with red flames would be the ticket...
