Hey wet,

People are just loyal to their brand dats all. It's not much different than debating Ford versus Chevy or Mopar. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.

I guess if I had to sum up how a lot of us Mate guys feel, I'd have to say many of us feel that Baja's are more of a mass production boat, where the quality is not as high as a Checkmate. Mate fans will usually point to the fact that Checkmate's are hand laid boats where chopper guns aren't used in the manufacturing process. I guess in nutshell, most of us feel that there is just a higher level of attention to detail. And also something many people aren't aware of is that Checkmate will tailor a boat to an owners specific taste or request, which makes each one, one of a kind.

I originally replied to this with a really long post and ripped Baja like only a few can but but when I when I hit post I had lost my connection, so it dissapeared. Its probably for the best cause I've been taught if you cant say something dont say anything, and it wasn't nice.
