Will this cause me a problem

When I bought my 85 Predictor a few months ago it had a whale tail installed on the cavitation plate.I removed it mainly because the boat wont fit in my garage with it on there.The question is will the 4 holes in the cavitation plate cause me a problem or will it still function as it should?Anyone have any ideas or thoughts about it.THANKS.

I don't think that those holes would cause a problem.
A friends drive had a drive drive shower. Against my advice, he chose to remove it after it got covered with growth. I repaired the hole in the cavitation plate with marine tex epoxy. It lasted for years. If you don't want to fill the holes, just put put a few stainless bolts in them to take up the space.

If you do not want to fill the holes, I would put some paint over the bare aluminum. In addition to Marine tex, you can use Marine grade bondo, sand it then paint the area and good as new...
