well boys. its time for me to retire the black enchanter for the summer. and get to workin on it.

heres the plan.

painting of the hull. and fixing of streess cracks.
redo the interior .. something more modern.
swap motor.
install jack plate.
swap out steering and throttle for hydralic steering and updated throttle.
re carpeting.

possibly re foaming.

how do i go about that ?

any tips on stuff i should do when i decide to really tear into this..

heres the scheme..
mopar sassy grass green. and flat black.

whole boat sassy grass green..
the sides where it says checkmate.and has the raised area.. flat black..

interior bright green. closly matching the paint. with strip of black suede. running down center. same with back seat.

carpet . black.

painting the motor cover. flat black then putting on the checkmate symbol.. the horsie guy.. and spraying sassy grass green and then removing the decal to reveal a painted symbol that is flat black. this will be done on both sides of the motor cover.

then i want to carpet so it reads checkmate in black suede. into the carpet in front of the rear seat.

tint the front windheild a bit darker than it is.. lemme know what you guys think.

I love that color green. I would be careful on the green seats. I seen a Roadrunner that was that color green and they tried to match the seats and it looked really bad. I think white seats with that shade of green would be killer. This is just my opinion

if i cant find a close green than im gonna go with black interior. and black or grey suede

Your most likely going to have to rip up the floor also. I bet that boat is soaked with rotten wood and foam.

I like how you're thinking though. That boat would look hot in that color scheme.

well .. this will be the first time. me doing this.

when i tear up the florr. what should i look for..
do i need this foam thats in the boat ???

or can i tear it all out and not worry about it if it is wet.

this hull seems to be ten times more solid than my yellow boat.. it rides like a caddilac

can somone gimme the run down on how to or what i should do and look for ?

I would rip out everything. Stringers, foam, floor etc...

You dont need to re foam it. I dont see the point unless you're worried about it sinking.
There are tons of floor resto threads here with tons of good info.

well if i give the stringers a squeeze with a pair of channel locks and they dont budge.. then are they fine. i think pullin the stringgers and reinstalling is a bit over my head

i found a green very close to the green i wanna paint the boat. but im starting to think that black will look better.

also.. i was thinking of rinolining the floor instead of carpet.. personally i think it would be amazing looking. and kinda trick. but.. what do you guys think ??

also any tips for removing a motor and how to move it about ?? i plan on doin a motor swap.

if cooper dont want it ill sure let you know .If you find a buyer go for it. I look at hundreds of boats every day. Unless I laid cash down, I would not have a problem with you selling it.

Black looks good but it will be like sitting on a wood stove all day. It will down rite cook you. You will get blisters if you sit on them if the temp outside hits 90

I saw a new Charger that looked just like that minus "the horsie guy"

Anyway, about the rhino liner. I think it is a good idea as long as you have completly gone thru your floor and know that are never going to do it again on that boat.

i totally agree with BR... it may not be as bad up north but here in va there is NO way i would go with any dark color to sit on... even white ones get hot enough that i throw water on them sometimes before it sit down.

in fact even the top fiberglass surfaces of the mx i am restoring will be a light color to prevent burns.

ok well the boat has been out of the water for the past day. and its still dripping water out about every 30 seconds. does this mean that the foam is wet ??? should i leave the cover off so it will bake out some of the water ? ? since ill be redoint the interior anyways ?

anyways the rinolining on the floor will seal it . and will be a non slip surface when wet. and i can just rinse out with a hose.. ill put a drain tube at the back seats that goes right out of the boat.

im thinkin of center mounting the front seat/steering wheel.. and leaving the bench seat for passengers.
whats your thoughts on this ?

Unless your planning on hanging a 300x or going 90+ It probably wouldnt be nesesary.

I like the idea of the rino liner though. I might do that to my boat some day.

before you get to carried away, you might want to check that floor, if its still dripping, you might have a problem there.

well it just stopped dripping yesterday.. the floor isnt soft. but i do plan on tearing it out and starting fresh.

ok.. well how do i go about removing the motor ?? whats the easiest way. ? a
cherry picker?
or some other method?

id like to get the motors swapped.. so i can put the bannaah boat up for sale.

i belive this 79 merc 200 only needs a fuel pump rebuild
the water pump is new.. and the stator is new along with the plugs..

compression good numbers 120 across the board.\

in my neighbors yard i spot a sportfire.. thats screaming slap a 200 hp on me.. but that might be a bit much he only wants 500 for the hull.

Hey, that's kind of cool looking.

Give me the best side view of your boat as you can, and I'll make a new drawing for you.

im not set on that
i was thinkin of painting the top green too and then painting the raised parts black..
or putting a big knight on the nose. or something in black
