79 checkmate

I have just got a 79 checkmate. I think from looking on the net it is a model 16 with a 115 mercury.IT will need a littel work to get it ready to go.seats and carpet should not be a problem. I remove the gas tank it is very clean going to replace the hoses since it's out.the wiring will need replaced becouse it has been hack up pretty good.I'm not real worried about it but if there is any where to get a diagram it would help. Also anything that would be good to check or look at on this moter or boat.thanks for any help you can give me

Are you needing an engine diagram or controller diagram?
As far as the boat wiring goes that would be tough to find. I have the other 2.

As far as the motor checks go. A good compression test would tell you the condition of the powerhead.
Pull the lower unit and change the oil, look for metal deposits. Also replace the water pump and impeller.

Thanks for the reply.Both would be very helpfull i'm sure.everything seems to be pretty much there just a few things dont work.I can probly figure them out but anything you have would help. thank you

Well I'm not going to be able to get you the diagrams. I scanned them with the scanner. Can't read the wire lables. Took a picture with the camera. Still can't read it.
So I guess the next best thing. If you have a question about what wire does what give me the color of the wire and I'll look it uo for you.

OK sounds good to me .its covered up right now but as soon as i get started
