Hobie's video thread "Checks Gone Wild" gave me an idea. Wouldn't it be cool to have a movie made up from still shots and video footage that everybody on the board sends in of their Checkmate in action and someone takes all the pics and video and slices, dices, adds information and audio to produce a movie that could be hosted on Youtube or even right here on the board? I'd be glad to do the editing and put it all together. I'm not great at it, but it's all about the footage I recieve and I think I could do a decent job of it.

To bad you cannot get the checkmate clips off youtube..everybody has quick clips that the new digital cameras do...I have a bunch of quick clips on youtube..my MGI studio does not see quicktime so I can not edit the clips that come off my digital camera...I will have too update my PC soon to do better vids..I am only running a 700pc...It is a Dinsour....LOL

As long as your email box is big enough, just post your addy and ask people to send..see what happen..

Haha! Yeah, I figured that out...or should I say I have not figured that out...how to download Youtube vids. I was going to snag yours and use a few clips to mess around with.

I'm like you. My video editing software doesn't recognize QuickTime. My digi cam uses that format for video. I use Windows Movie Maker for editing. Now, my video camera footage I can deal with. I actually had it with me Labor Day and never broke it out.

I have another software for video editing that I've nevr downloaded yet. Maybe I should check it and see if it will see QuickTime. I'm sure alot of digi cams take the Mpeg in QuickTime format.

Hey Chris, if you think this might work please edit my original post and add my email addy. Send me what you got folks and I'll do the rest. Just don't get in a hurry. I work slow.

Alright, let's don't get distracted here. Send me some pics/video of your boats and boating experience. Limit the size of the clips to just the best parts and when I get enough I promise and enjoyable movie for everyone to enjoy.

Then maybe we can talk Chris into a "members only" folder/thread for fun!

Come on guys! Someone has to have some quick video clips that are not too big to email to me. I have already started a movie. I've "sniped" many stills of members here who have posted pics of their boats and have layed them out in a slide show format. I've got a great tune piced out that's a tick over 4 minutes, but only have about 1 1/2 minutes of stills so far. Several short video clips would help out here. Hobie, are all you videos in QuickTime format? What about you Hondaman, your rooster tail video clips would be a nice addition.....

Pics are all over this site and vids I can email to you but again they are quite large.

RobZ, Can you take the video footage you have and just copy some of the "good stuff"...action shots and email them to me? If not, send me what you have and I'll edit out what I can't use.

Just an update... I've got a movie put together that is 4:47 minutes long so far. I need to shorten it to about 4:26 to fit the music selection and what not. I've got tons of stills and some good video, but I need some MORE video footage to make it a little bit better. If you have some, I can retrieve it from Youtube, so post up soe footage of your boat and your family enjoying a day on the water. This is an all Chackmate vid, so that's what I need......

Well, I've prolly got about all the video footage I'm gunna get from the bulk of the Checkmate Bretherin (read: Northern contingent). I had hoped to be able to include some vid of my own boat, etc., etc., etc., but I have yet to make that happen, so I guess I'll go ahead and save what I've got to date as "Checkmate Movie 1" and put it out there for all you snow skiing, sled rinin', snowmobile ridin' fools to remember what boatin' is all about. I'll make a new thread as soon as I get it uploaded to the web so I can poat a link.
