I just got word that Checkmate is considering, offering their boats with Evinrudes. This is in addition to the Mercurys they already sell.

This would open Checkmates up to dealers that sell something other than Mercury.

Of course you can always get one without a motor.

Coop, find me a left over Pulse 170 they special built and nobody picked up, and I'll take that with an ETEC 150 or Opti 150 :thumb:

They need to up the HP rating on the 16ft to 150hp
so a Rude' 150 H.O. can be rigged.

My 2007 2100 BR has a 2007 Evinrude 225 HO. Best motor that I have ever owned. Runs almost the same at 6750 ft as it does as sea level. Unreal!

Yea, I figured, whenever Doug tells me he's considering something, its usually a done deal.

This should be an exciting partnership for both Checkmate and Evinrude/BRP. A good friend of mine is a Senior Applications Engineer for Evinrude, and he's heading to Ohio next week to help hang and rig an E-tec 150 H.O. for use in the upcoming brochure photo shoot.

I'd like to see a 225 HO on the back of a 2100BR :surf:

That's the gameplan......unless I can get my hands on a 250 H.O.!!

I talked to my friend that is the applications engineer for Evinrude, and he was very impressed with the boat build quality and people he met while at Checkmate this week. They rigged a 150 H.O. on a Pulsare 2000, and the boat ran about 5 mph faster than what my buddy predicted it would. Needless to say, he was pleasantly surprised! And, this comes from a man that has been around high-performance bass boats his entire life.

Boat Dock Marine Group has taken delivery of 3 new 'Mates powered with E-tecs. If the weather holds today a few of us are supposed to get together and run some tests on their Pulsare 2400 with the new 250 H.O. Rumor has it that this boat ran some incredible numbers in preliminary testing at Checkmate, but we'll know the real numbers as the applications engineer from Evinrude is supposed to use this particular boat/motor package to generate the official performance report for Evinrude. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the update. We be very interesting to see the what kind of number this set up puts down.
