Never been there, but I figure it'll take my F-350 about $550.00 worth of diesel for the round trip to drag the Exciter. "T" says she's in if we go so ya'll take up a collection and I'll bring the crawfish and shrimp and we'll all have a boil on the shores of Lake Frozen...I mean Michigan next summer... :)

Hey Redboat, I have family up in Glen lake and plan on towing Pinky up there next summer. Love that Area, can't wait to get to hang out on the water instead of driving around it.

Hot sauce...in MICHIGAN??? Haa! Getta Rope!!! Hehehe!

All B.S. aside, I've tried to leave S.La. on more than one occassion. There are alot of BETTER places I'd could live, but I keep coming back becuase there is NO BETTER food on earth than right down here. We know how to cook and we know how to eat. I really enjoy cooking for folks that are not from these parts and seeing their enjoyment. I would really enjoy doing a boil for you guys.

I have co worker who throws a great party each May. He'd order up 100 lbs of crawlfish, 50 lbs of gator, and fry smelt all day.And everyone brings all types of dishes to pass. I'm good for a few crawlfish (tails only) 100's of people show up early.

P.S. My brother lived down in Morgan City(diver on the oil rigs) for a few yrs back in 80's. I made it down there a few times and over to Or'leans once.

Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about.... they say "Laissez Les Bon Temps Roule"...or translated, "Let the good times roll"

Last week, at my buddy's home up in the mountian's outside of Gatlinburg, Tn., he and I put on a shrimp boil for some of his friends from up there and a few of our buds from down here. It was so much fun. I had made a big pot of New Orleans Red Beans to bring up there for dinner one night. One of his buddies from Tenn. had to have the left-overs to take home. I was laughing my butt off. This guy loved the beans. Oh, and the Shrimp? It's like they had never seen boiled shrimp. There were NO left-over shrimp. 40 lbs....GONE!!!!

Hey Guys,

I created the Great Lakes forum.

I'm going to leave Canada out of it for now as we might end up with one for us crazy Canooks.

Everyone of course should feel welcome to chime in and frequent any forum they would like regardless of what the description says anyway. ;) :thumb:

You got to include Wisconsin. Go Pack.

JZ Mate is already in the garage, time to wash, wax, tweak set back -- come on spring.

Hey fiftyp - I'm restoring an 80' enchanter ob and taking it to lake leelanau this summer - I went to school around glen lake and friends and family in the neighborhood - let me know when you might be around and I would keep in touch - been outta boating since I left and this project gets me back in. Missing a prop, swap carpet, then ready to go - take care

Nice - didn't realize a local was on hand -The fella who got us into Checkmates owns the excellent little winery on French Lick road, Chateau Fontaine - just east of Sugarloaf - he's a great waterskier and I remember those guys tearing it up behind a fast I/O when I was little (and those rides were scaryfun at 8).

Had a mastercraft with my cousin on Leelanau a few seasons but we sold it for good money a few years back and I kinda of missed really using it much. Dad found this boat in Miami, sold the engine and gave me the hull.

Got all materials short of paint at the ready but am nervous I underpowered this Enchanter and will let down the good name. Everyone on this great forum has at least a 200.

Found a great deal on a new Yammie 150 (inline) 4stroke that had a scratched cowling. +controls, gauges, 19" reliance prop and a big 6 year warranty....for $8600 - Thought it was fate - The enchanter had a early 90s Black Max 150 that ran great (learned later it had been hotted up).

The new power weighs 466 and a 200hp from them weighs 585 - Now it's obvious clean power can be had from a 200 Etec and a heeluva lot more speed - too late now but maybe it'll be enough

I definitely plan on getting up there in Aug/Sept even if it's with a slow boat - but I will keep in touch, it'd be fun to put-in Glen Lake - used to canoe around Little G. from the Crystal but never the big one going fast.

Enjoy those 10pm sunsets coming your way and have fun
