"Something this nice should have been a Checkmate"

YES... I'm selling the WIFE'S boat...it is MINT!!! It looks like a 2004!!! RARE MODEL... It is a Larson 176 Flyer JET... This is a "real boat" and NOT one of those jet bath-tubs like a sea-doo, sea-raider, sugar sand, or yamaha things....this is a modern 17'6" open bow boat with the wrap-around glass walk-thru windsheild powered by a GM high-output 4.3L V6 (225HP) and running a full size Legond (Berkley) JET Drive. It has enough power to pull up two adults on solomn ski's with 6 people in the boat, very strong excelleration, tops out at 50+MPH and is fairly economical to run (a LOT LESS than those 2 strokes by far)!!!

Very fun boat and great styling... looks like the new Larson 2004 models (but it's a 1997)...has been extremely well maintained and has been a garage kept boat year-round since NEW!!! Also has factory installed stereo, thru-hull exhaust (sounds great), built-un swin platform, sun deck over motor, front swivel buckets with rear bench seat, tons of storage, custom galvanized trailer, custom full cover, etc.

This is a SUPER nice boat but the WIFE wants a PONTOON BOAT... off-season steal for $11,900!!!

Pulse185...
Thanks... It's a really neat set-up!!! A buddy has the same boat but the I/O version... this JET will run circles around him... What a GREAT Motor & Jet set-up...I can't believe that more boat companies don't use this in their rigs... Can't be much difference in cost than those Merc Sport-Jets... but sure has more power (thrust), better economy, cleaner running, and more durable!!! I realy like the JET for the SAFETY factor with the kids, and not having to worry about taging a rock with a skeg or prop... this is the "IDEAL" family boat for those inland lakes! http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/thumb.gif

I wonder if our buddys at Checkmate ever thought of doing something like this with a Pulse 185 or similar... The "JET BOAT" market is very popular with families and might open some new doorways to future CHECKMATE customers??? http://www.checkmate-boats.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

CHECKMATE... you guy's need to build something like this one!!! Not one of those Merc "SPORT-JUNK" power jet bath tubs everyone else is building (IE...sea-doo, sugar sand tango, sea-ray, yamaha). http://checkmate-boats.com/6/ws/,s,8626072361/Graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

This boat has 55mph performance, good economy with the GM 225hp V6, sounds cool, seating for up to 10 (sits 4 adults and 6 kids)... and the thrust of this full size jet pump will pull up two 200+ pound adults on deep water start single ski's, etc. etc. The ONLY reason I'm selling is thats it's just too small for running on the Great Lakes were my cottage is.

This boat accellerates hard, and will out run stern drives easliy. I was thinking of supercharging it or putting a late model (96) LT1 Vette motor in it for kicks... get 65+mph... Oh well...maybe the next owner???
