I'm sure a thread like this has been done before, but most of us are always doing something to improve our performance, so it's time to update. I would like to see members post there personal boat specs. ,and current top speed numbers. What you have done to your engine, horsepower numbers, prop specs, and any other mechanical or speed/power details you would like to add. I'll start it off...

1988 251 Convincor Stock 454 with Wieand 177 supercharger running 4.5 lbs. boost. Timing is set at 28 degrees total. Holley 800 cfm carb. Stock everything else. If the blower is adding 125-150 horsepower as it's sopposed to then I'm around 450-475HP. Best speed numbers are 69.7 down river on GPS. I'm running a 26 Bravo 1 prop @ 4500 rpm. It runs about 3 mph slower with my 28 Hydromotive @ 4250rpm. Still expiermenting with props... and waiting for the cooler weather to get it over 70mph. The supercharger has gained me 12-13 mph. at a cost of $1900.00.

I'm looking forward to seeing other members specs. and how much work and expense it took to get there.

My 259 will run 84 on a good day with good conditions, right chop, cooler air, less weight on board. It will run 80 any day. All work has been rigged and / or done myself. As for power, I built an N.A. 540. Relatively mild, low compression, hydraulic roller cam, A.F.R. heads, all good parts.. Made 680 h.p. @ 5800 rpm and 660 ft lbs of torque @ 4900 rpm. CMI full dry headers, GGB extreme mufflers. Thats is in front of an Merc XR upper and Imco SC lower ( standard length ) , spinning a labbed 25 P5-X Hydromotive. Imco dual ram full hydraulic steering, Dana Marine HP-1000 tabs.

Little Diplomat I/O (17 ft) 5.7v8 forged flat tops, good 3 angle on the heads, Too much cam(was in block, I wish I knew the spec's) Edelbrock performer intake w/ Holley 650 doublepumper with powervalves plugged off. turning a 14.5x20p Mach Sterndriver 4 blade to 5300 rpm w/ alpha outdrve.
Looking for a cheap gps to check speed. I think it has a lot more in it, but we had a hydrofoil on the outdrive that I want to take off, and I think it will need trim tabs to offset the weight in the back of the boat.
Big change from the 4 cyl that came in the boat!!!!
