Default Restoration of the original Cigarette 20

Hey everyone, thought you'd enjoy this restoration story about a special Cigarette 20. Unbelievable story and some good restoration details as well.

Wow, what a gorgeous boat!! The guy who takes care of my boat for me (and the shop my family bought our first jet ski from 25 years ago) had one of those 20' Cigs when i was a kid. Had a 454 with a TRS drive on the back. I've always loved the looks of those boats. His boat was in NYS as well, funny color combo, it was metallic brown with orange/greenish accents. Would love to get my hands on one!!

I think I've seen that boat listed before. The rear deck looks awful, but looks like it could be returned to original with a little work.

agreed, originally the plan was to put a supercharged Keith Eickert big block in it. at the time he spent over 50k for the motor. that big shroud was done to house the supercharger.

from what i heard, they found a cigarette firefox that he wanted more so the Eickert was to go into that instead, don't know if that ever happened or not.

what i can tell you is that every piece that went into that boat would've been top notch, and the hood while gaudy to look at was finished very well.

We also serviced a black one with a 454 mag - mid 80's version and also a 70's version that had a blue windshield which had a trs drive which we converted from thru hull only to a silent choice set up with custom welded exhaust. no idea if they are still in the area though.

Love those old 20" Cigs!!! This one was a pretty serious one that showed up to a local shootout we had last weekend. I didn't get to talk to the guy to see what it had for power, but she was moving out pretty damn good!!!
