Default Anyone know how large my factory fuel tank is??

Hey guys just picked up an '89 Pulse 186 and was trying to figure out fuel capacity. Would like to be able to get my fuel/oil mix as close as possible without a full tank without totally winging it

Mix fuel in five gallon jugs then pour em into the fuel tank. Then you know it's right. Easy to handle that way too. Fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate. I've got an old quart jug of mercury premix oil that has a line on the side drawn with a Sharpie to correspond with the amount of oil for a 50 to one mix ratio. I just fill to this line from the gallon jugs of premix oil and pour it into the five gallon fuel jugs at the filling station before filling the fuel jug, mixes well this way. Don't know of any other way to do it and with thousands of dollars of engine on the line, you don't want to leave oiling to chance.

Yea that was my plan for this weekend lol Just figured I'd ask around before doing that. Looks like I'll be sitting at Sunoco mixing/filling 5 gallons at a time 🤣🤣

There is a section here that the Admin has created with pictures of most of the old Checkmate sales brochures. A quick search found a readable copy of the 186 Pulse in 1993. The 89 one was very hard to read.

Answer is 32 gallons. You may want to have a look as you will enjoy the details you can find out about your boat.

Also, when you're out garage saleing, pick up some more gas jugs cheep, or should I say, inexpensively. That way when you hit the filling station you can fill up three or four 5 gallon jugs at a time. I like to stay away from the ethanol blends (way too lean for the high performance stuff).

The 1990 CM brochure says the capacity is 32 gallons.
