I think your best bet is to start a thread about the engine work and as Dave said try OSO for a shorter lower. I know they run those things pretty deep and I wouldn't be surprised if it helped on a boat that runs in the 60's.

Unhappy 21' Pulsar 250XS

Was told to put a 23 prop on it to stop the chinning. Now I only get 66mph out of it. Have a jack plate set back 6" and have the engine mounted as high as I can get it. Want more speed but don't want to flip this baby trying. I am told I should be getting at least 75mph out this engine/boat. 2009 Pulsar B/R with 2006 factory rebuild optimax 88 hours. Can anyone help with this?

Current setup with not even close to being tuned properly and not at all broken in 200 Mercury and 1.87 lower spinning a 25 pitch Laser II . No jackplate sitting way too low on 2nd hole down . 71 MPH GPS at 6100. Installing jackplate over the winter along with hydraulic steering. Shooting for comfortable mid 70's and 80 MPH top speed.

Is that a 90hp opti? Or a 300? On a 16ft boat? Or a 26 ft? Something tells me we need to know....
