Default Just found this shot of a 16’ I used to own.

This would be 20 some yrs ago.

Found it rotting away in a field uncovered.
Damn thing ended up being rock solid and only needing paint and a re-rig!

‘1969 16’.
Couldnt make the orig alum windshield look the way I wanted so built one of wood and fiberglass.
Found a 140 V-4 and put in it.

Ran 60 w/the motor on the transom.
One of the best balanced and performing packages I ever owned and one of very few I wish I had back.

Notice the ski pylon.
Was in my skiing 3 times a week era.
I’d drop 2” of pitch and even w/my skinny slalom skis and 3 adults in the boat it’d just about pull your arms out of their socket!

That thing flew beautifully too. An absolute blast to drive.

Only picture I have of it.

Funny too, I just remembered I found it in Bucyrus right on either Rt 4 or 98.

Had a '50's era 18 hp Mk 25 Merc on it. Sold that for seed money.

Also learned the importance of air flow when making a temporary spray booth to paint in.
Made one of plastic sheet in my garage. Duct taped a furnace filter on the intake side and a 24" box fan on the exhaust side.
Mixed the catalyst in my paint (tic toc, tic toc), put on my paintin suit, respirator, head sock etc.
Walked in my new spray booth, duct tape the door closed behind me and fired up the fan.

The fan pulled 3 times more air than the filter would flow!
Can you say vacuum?
Sucked the walls in around me and pinned me beside the boat!

I looked like a shrink wrapped Tasmanian devil

Never did that again but did manage to salvage the paint job.

I believe so Shannon.

I know it wasn’t a MX.

Wish I had it back.
Would be an animal w/a hot rod V-4 looper.
Low 80’s and a rocket getting there.
