Default Sealing a Floor....

So the floor is solid on my V191 project for a 50 year old boat. I pulled the old carpet and scraped the remnants and now I want to reseal it before putting new carpet back in. The old way would be to slop a gallon of resin on it. Anyone have any other product suggestions that might work and be more economical? Coop?

Thx-

I know only a little about boat building, but I do know about working with plastic resins like polyester, epoxy and vinyl.

If it were mine and unless someone told me an even better way.

Id clean off all the old material and smooth the surface as much as I could then paint on a thinned coat of polyester resin as the first coat so it soaked in deep. (Mix the resin as per instructions then cut it 50% with acetone.)

Second coat would be straight polyester resin and if required or desired a third coat.

After that put down what ever surface you want, carpet or some other deck/floor material.

Yo Dave, hope youre having a good summer! I appreciate the offer on the resin but I can source it locally. Ill probably just use resin since I have a lot of voids I want to fill in.
