New top speed for my Pulsare 2100!!
Well, after a 5 hour long wrestling match installing my Stainless Marine 8" setback bracket yesterday, I got to splash the boat just before dark and take a few speed passes. With the 8" bracket and Bob's 5.5" hyd. jack plate I now have 13.5" of setback. With a full tank of gas, two adults, my dog, and turning a Trophy Plus 26; my stock 225Xri pushed my boat to 77 mph with the needle bouncing to 78 on the Livorsi speedometer. My Livorsi speedometer is very accurate and usually mirrors my Garmen handheld GPS. We were still climbing when I had to get off throttle due to the train bridge approaching rapidly !! That's 3+ mph faster than my last setup of 7.5". The handling dramatically improved also with much less chinewalk. I got a chance to make 3 passes before it became too dark and unsafe to run. We decided to do dinner by water and headed south to the Waterway Cafe for a couple of burgers. The ride home got pretty chilly as the needle dipped to 60 degrees! Even my dog was shivering! Oh well, that's winter boating in Florida!! Pictures of the install to follow.

Great Improvment
Way to go JP, if you keep this up you'll never take the Valero out of the garage.

If it were 60 degrees, my motor would be in the machine shop and I would be feverishly waxing and polishing. Congrats on the new speed!

Yup, the Valero hasn't seen daylight in over 4 months...I just may have to sell her to someone that will use her!

Hey Predictor, I've been trying to maximize the boat speed with set up rather than engine mods. My motor is completely reliable and has never let me down....I would hate to lose that reliability factor. I'm sure I may eventually make changes to intake and exhaust and possibly send the lower to Bobs for a nose cone and lwp's...I have a bunch of friends with hyped up 2.4's/2.5's on their Streams and they are constanly blowing something up. I think I'll just stick with my "fishing" motor and creep up on the 80 mph mark!!
