No jackplate
22P Michigan Wheel stainless

If the tach is correct, I might be able to go up in pitch.
Normal range is 5000-5500 per owner's manual.

What do you think??
if your tac was reading 5600 you are right on with your speed, assuming you have a 2:1 lower unit. i bet you could gain a couple mph with a 23P. those michigan wheel props are not too efficiant. try a laserII. many have had success with them on a predictor including myself.

Unhappy speed

well I put my tri-mate 2 on the lake in July with a fresh power head . Well I didn't suspect my prop was bad it was a 24 pitch chopper well I gpsed at 49 one run the next time out the prop blew out, ( spinning the hub inside the prop ) and she tached out at 8,500rpm for a split sec as fast as I could throttle down well damage was done I lost compression on 2 cylinders and now my fresh rebuild is a boat anchor. ( I'm in surch of a bare block if anyone has one please email me at Greghi65@aol.com ) shakeing it off can't tell props are bad some times by the naked eye. Chalk one up for a learning experiance lol , back to the build up stand . Reed ( I'm going with a 26 pitch cleaver next try )

My 1992 22ft persuader has the 454mag 385hp fresh rebuild this summer. Im running a 3blade 24pitch quicksilver prop, also a 24 pitch 4blade mirage, bennet trim tabs. I need 4 adults in the boat to keep the boat in the water, running fully loaded with gas, 4 adults on board, small chop on the water, im pushing 76mph on the speedometer . It will probably go faster but it chime walks if i push it more than that. looking at maybe adding a single arm hydraulic steering this winter and see if that will help. I havent ran the boat yet on the gps, still playing with props ect.. the 24pitch that im running ive got some throttle left, and im running at 5100 rpm. So i may try to jump up to a 3blade 25 pitch next summer.

Went out this morning to flush the boat out from last nites salt water run. The motor has something going on the power is intermitent but running strong this morning,im thinking plug wires or a carb problem but for what ever reason a new topspeed number appeard on the gps. 87 starflite,12"set back,1 1/2"below the V 87 yamaha Excel 25p trophy plus with no ring on 74.3 mph.
