  • I stopped by the mechanic shop today, they finished the thru hull install and it looks great. Real clean job, I will get some pics when I get it back. They rebuilt the carb which was mess, handling some last adjustments now. Since the interior isn't done yet I'm going to have the out drive sandblasted and repainted.

The interior is hopefully going to be done next week, going on 3 weeks now. Apparently there is a delay in the logo's being sewn into the pieces. I'm having the Checkmate knight sewn into the back of both bolster seats, and a larger one on the engine cover. On the 2 side panels will be a small CHECKMATE. I look forward to getting it done so I can get some pics on the site.
I just ordered some more stuff from Dana Marine for the Senator. Buying a bigger one would be a bad financial idea this time of year. I ordered a 4 Carling switch panel in red and 4 switches and plan to replace the 3 pull and 1 push horn switch. I think this will modernize the dash layout.

I need to either rebuild my Carb or replace it. Is there any advantage to going to a Holly Carb without adding more to the engine?
i have an 88 senator, w/ 21 pitch, does 60+, i have a chance to purchase a used , like new, 23 pitch for $150.00, is it worth the $? will it slow the boat going up in pitch??
I haven't been able to start yet. It was my Dad's boat since the mid 80's and he gave it to me about 12 years ago. Now I'm giving it back to him and he's gonna use it to do some fishing in the bay off NJ. I cleaned all the stuff out of the inside and vacuumed it on Wednesday but didn't get to start sanding it. He's coming up on Saturday with a few boxes of parts so we can get it 110% for him. If the weather coopertes tonight I might take a stab at a small section. What are you using as a backer for the sandpaper? I'm thinking maybe a small sponge? How are you making out?
quick question for you, I have a 1987 enchanter and am looking to purchase a jackplate. What size setback should I be looking for
I have one for you all.. My shifter sticks.. Sometimes I can't get it to shift out of neutral.. I squeege and wiggle the shifter until it comes loose.. Do I need a new shifter??? Also notice a 1/4 round molding between the shifter and the side of the hull.. Sounds like cob job, seeing I had to rewirer all the lights.. All the wire were cut.. They hacked it up.. Thank God it runs.. Also I think the gimble bearing is bad. I here a knocking noise at a idle..I know it's not the engine.. HELP !!!!!!!! Oh by the way,, Thanks Chris
