It a bracket that holds something there:poke:

Looks like a depth finder transducer mounting bracket......but it don't explane why there would be 2 of them. Is it plastic of metal?

Ya, I figured it holds something,lol....it's aluminum and the PO had a depth finder transducer mounted lower on the hull that's been removed, don't know why but he took his antique fish finder off to install it on his brand new mate.

It appears to be a leftover bracket from an old hoop style ski bar. ;)

The way that they worked, was that there was a bracket on each side of the motor and then the ski bar hooked into them.

The bars themselves, were sorta rectangular in shape, but the bottom itself was obviously not joined together. Joining each side bar was a top bar and it went across the top of the motor and hooked on to the other side poll. In the center of the top bar, there was a hook for the rope. It sorta hard to describe, but hopefully that gibberish was understandable.

I probably have a pic of one kicking around somewhere, as I had one on one my old boats. My aunt still actually has one on her old Crestliner, that she still uses to this day. :)
