rails

anyone ever remove the metal rail from a older mate to get a newer look?...Is there any reason why I shouldnt?

my brother has done that to a couple of his boats, it looked good. he would countersink and install a nice SS flat top screw into each hole, flush with the deck or just a little under as to not snag anything.

i thought it looked good. depends on the boat i guess. i kind of liked the usefulness on the enchanter.

Here's my Enforcer with the hand rails removed.

I like my Liner with the rails but I also like Sim's without them. Its a toss up for me and if I removed them I'd have to figure out a way to deal with the difference in the gel color under the brackets that hold it to the deck.

The boats without the rails look good, But me, I don't mind them as long as thier low slung and straight. My style of boating I would
be lost without them.

No way I'd take em off mine. Perfect for holding boat by hand at the dock, and more importantly, hanging invaluable buoys.

And they don't look all that bad either..
