1st day out this season-It's been a long winter. Photo's.

So, made it out for the first day of the season with knarloid
and his family.
It was supposed to be warm and sunny today even though it
was a frigid 37 degrees this morning. Accuweather had been saying
60 and sunny so for that reason wife and I planned to go out.
It's been a long, cold winter and if we had a boating window open
we wanted to jump it.
Only complication?-- we had a date with knarloid's dog to meet ours
for the 1'st time since we were watching him for a few days while
they were out of town for a wedding.
Answer to problem? Probably wouldn't be hard to talk them into
joining us. And, as it turned out, that's exactly what happened.
Here's proof.
River was smooth and easy but extreme low tide.
4 adults, 2 kids. Got chilly on plane
but at idle+ it was warm and sunny. Bumped it up fast a few times at
Erin's (knarloids daughter) request.

P.S. atc---kept my shirt on all day. And I have witnesses who will
vouch to that.
Boating Season is OPEN!!!!!

Nice,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but I don't like boating with jackets on! Great pics though. No leaves on the trees and on the wata. Hhhhhmmmmmmmmm?

Season is OPEN!

Thanks to Sim and Laura for hosting us for the few hours yesterday. Not only did we get out for the spin in the Starliner, but also got in a bbq on their deck beforehand while the dogs and my son found the wettest corner of the garden. :rof:

Here's a few of the pictures I got.

I think we finally got rid of the ice today. Haven't checked it but there was a little but floating around Sunday that should be burned off by now. Hopefully we can pull the boat out of its winter spot next weekend.

Looks like a great day. I have not been near the lake in a few weeks but I m pretty sure I know what it still looks like. We had crazy thick ice this year and im sure I have at least a couple more weeks before I could even think about a boat ride. Just yard work and bonfires for now. Enjoy it !!

Looks like you all had a wonderful time. I want to hit the Delaware again on a day like that. Last time I took a beating.

Yes John, we did. Sometimes you hit the Delaware right, sometimes you hit it wrong. Our day out was about as "wrong"
(beating-wise) as it comes.
Can't say it wasn't fun though.:rof:
No wrong in that.

As for the next picture and comment I need to address Kris-- That little scalliwag drives a hard bargain. As you are
his Legal Guardian responsible for his binding financial contracts;
Congratulations on your new purchase! That's great!

In actuality; He wouldn't take his attention or hand off the ignition key.
We were running. It had to be stopped.:rof:

You were running? Impossible! That boat doesn't run with a seated driver.
And "Peace on you" too, my brother.
BTW- I was tempted to take the shirt off and ask knarloid to take a picture of me standing up just for you
(and maybe patroni).
But it was just too damn cold and I'm too damn old.
:poke:for you. :poke: for patroni.
:rof:

And, one last point for the record; The last photo from the bow with the boat running and everybody
sitting and Aidan grinning up from his life preserver- you will note wake indicating forward movement
of about 5mph- Driver was standing-on the bow shooting down. Took socks off so I had some traction.
Was not even close to sitting down.

I want to buy it just so I can take the buffing wheel to it then park it in the sun and stare at it. Such a pretty boat.

Driverless boat

I think you shoulda let the little guy drive. The steering wheel woulda taken his mind off the key. But then there's always the chance you might loose a prop if he drove,,,,, he does favor his Dad!

Of course any driver is better than no driver!
