21' Rallysport

Boston Predictor

Well-known member
Took the Rallysport out for a cruise today and I must say I love this boat more and more every day:bigthumb:
Im running a crappy 23'' alum prop, motor bolted on the transom propshaft about 2'' below the pad, top speed unknown @ 5200rpm with a full load on flat water. Peak HP on the 3.6gt is at 6000rpm so with a bit more tweaking we'll be flying. Cruises well @2000-2500 and the midrange and tourque is remarkable
Lots of boats out there today. Had a blast! Ill try to get some better pics and some video next time

Man, that turned out to be a great looking boat. Keep us posted on the motor performance and overall speed, I'm curious.

Thanks Ben:cheers
The boat cleaned up way better than I thought it would.
Still not sure If I should buy a chopper or ballistic prop. Not much diffrence in speed when Trimmed out like my checkmate, it seems to run best with a wee bit of positive trim. The nosecone is definitely causing the prop to slip and is slowing me down because all the epoxy is peeling off:shakehead: I should have that fixed soon though. Im dying to see how fast I can get it:D

I bought a brand new Rallysport in 2001. Runs best with alot of setback. I ran 18" back. It ran 74-76 with a 225 Opti, and 92-93 with a 300x. Very cool boats.

Hey Randy, Did yours have a steped transom? I was thinking about going to 10'' w/ some spacers since it already has 5-6'' built in

I know the transom could definitely handel the setback, it is super strong with transom knees inside. Even being a 20yr old boat and having the V8 on the back there are no stress cracks whatsoever.

You should put 14" at least. We put a 14" bracket on a notched Rallysport and he picked up 4 mph. I had mine special built. I had a full transom with a rear sundeck. No splash well. I also had the notch left out so the gas tank could be moved back about 10". With the windshield off, I had it up to 77.8 with the 225.

Thats pretty cool man. Why did you sell it? I bet the new owner loves it that was a beautifull boat.

I may have to buy one of your custom brackets to match my gellcoat and just attach the HYD JP to it..Ill shoot you a PM.

He might not have to go quite as far back as you did Wildman, with that heavier V8 hanging off the back. Just guessing, but with the V8 2"-4" less....................
