Well-known member
If anybody knows of or see's anyting please let me know.
Looking for 25 or 28 Convincor O/B's.
With or W/O power.
May even consider an I/O with no power or scattered power and convert to O/B.
Thanks Guys!

Gary's going to get a new boat.....Gary's going to get a new boat........Gary's going to get a new boat ,lol good luck in the hunt.

The 30 is not mine, they just said that it was a funny coincidence that I would ask about an O/B becuase they were just getting ready to build this 30.
I agree too on the size. HUGE!!
Two V-8's would work though.
I also talked to Kunkles Marine about it yesterday. The factory told me they could do a 270 Convincor for an O/B so I talked to Harold about it.
Problem is I like the old 25 and 253 way more than I do the new 270. So does Harold.
So I may be dead in the water as far as a new one from them.
I have'nt really decided what to do yet. Can't afford to do anything buttttttt............
Oh well, nuff said bout that

I am back to looking for used O/B's and accepting the freagin spill wells that I hate!!
Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, fining a clean, old 25 GTX or a 28 and do a "motordectimy" on the car motor and drive. This would eliminate the spill well and give me the sun lounge that I want. (my Sonic does'nt have one)
They are for sale all the time for $10 - $15K for a fairly clean one. I could buy one of those take it for a ride to remind my self of why I'm not a car motor guy (stops accelerating 20 MPH too soon) and then sell the drive system to re-coup part of my investment, glass up the hole, bolt on a bracket and boomb babe! There you go!!
Did have an interesting discussion with Harold about I/O's though.
For those that don't know, Harold has probably built more fast Mates and gone faster in them than anyone on the planet.
He has a 28' single motor boat that he ran at last years shoot out.
Any guesses on how fast he went with this thing???
107!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 28 foot boat With a freagin single!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He says there's more. He things it will run over 110! (I may have to post this on S&F just to stir the pot a bit

)
I want to be him when I grow up!
I told Harold that every time I hear some goober mouthing off about what pigs Mates are, I tell them all the same thing. "I've got someone you need to meet".

I'm going to go see him in the next few days regardless just to see what he has for ideas from his decades of experience.
Also sent a p.m. to the J.O.Burke that had the 28 O/B for sale on here last fall but have not heard back from him.
Pretty much fantasizing at this point but I've got a job now (didn't before) and a place to store one while I rig it (didn't) before.
So the planets aren't quite lined up but they may be the closet ever in my life time.
Gary

J.O.,
Just did. Sorry, I thought ai was set up here to have them forwarded to me and was not.
Will send you an e-mail.
Thanks

That is my plan.
If I can score a 28' I'll probably start by running it with my 6's while I collect parts to build two V-8's.
They claim an easy and dependable 400 HP's.
I would have to test that theory

if it's the one @ Ocean O/B, I've already seen the ad amd e'd them more pix's.
It's a brokerage boat and they only had the one picture.
Oh yeah, freagin New York of course.
I really need to get in one and see how much room there is compared to my Sonic and then the difference between the 25 and 28.
The 28' would be pushing it at the local ponds.
Did see a 32' twin engine Fountain at 6 mile long Buckeye Lake last weekend!
Putz!

Hey Gary, I got the 'care' package today, thanks!! Is the yellow paint for the deck or hull??

That's the one, if you can find out what the max hp is and what speeds it would run as I may up-grade to one in a few years.

The 28 has plenty of room. I often considered putting a sun pad across the well area being as my engines are setback on brackets anyway.
A new 30 will be fine with the new 4 stroke outboards they are now building. Let's face it, the engine manufacturers don't really seemed too concerned about the small outboard boats.
If I were to sell my 28, I would have to get a pretty damn good dollar to convince me to let it go... The boats are just that good!
Plus the 28 Outboard models are a rare find. Especially a clean one!
