Bow light wiring problem 1990 Starliner

Has anyone had experience running new wires to the bow light on a Starliner? I thought it was the switch but it's not, cut the wires where they make the turn to go under the bow and jumpered with wires from the battery, no light. I have tried pulling on the wires but they are secured in a way that I can not retrieve them. Had hoped to splice new wires in and pull through to the junction, ain't happening! Any advice would be appreciated!
