Just bought a 96 25.3 Convincer 502Merc I/O w/ Offshore Hull. Looking forward to summer. Great to see all the Checkmate enthusiasts. If there is anyone in my area interested in getting up for runs up the chickahominy river, Jamestown Beach or to the gravel pits in Richmond let me know.

Yorktown, VA - 2000 Checkmate Persuader
Welcome !!!
Yeah, I'm up in Yorktown, VA. I've taken mine out to the "Chick" several times (although it stains the hull and requires a bit of clean-up every time).
Last week I went out on the Nottoway River. Nice ride down to Edenton taking the Nottoway down to the Chowan and back.
Also went out on the York river and some of the local inlets. I probably won't go saltwater to often. It just takes alot of cleanup afterwards from the saltwater and some the inlets are shallow and tricky in my area.
I'm also planning a trip out to John H. Kerr Dam and resevoir (aka Buggs Island Lake) and trying to get some checkmates together for July 12/13.
Let me know when you are planning to head out and we'll catch up.

Sounds good, I would be interested in a Buggs Island trip, July 12 would not work for me the 2008 Jammin on the James poker run is that weekend an I planning to sign up. We will have to get together one weekend to show the area Baja's up, you can reach me at josh@acceleratedfinancial.net
