Lake Hopatcong Antique & Classic Boat Society rally 2011

I have been meaning to get to this event (last weekend) since I moved to NJ in January 2011. I am a member of the Classic Motor Boat Association of Great Britain (http://www.cmba-uk.com/) for the last few years, and taken classic boat to their annual rally for 2 years from Ireland.

So last Saturday I managed to get an hour at the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club to meet some of the society and take a few snaps as the event started. Unfortunately I had to leave then to get to another event, but looking forward to one day owning something like one of these beauties.

For now, I hope you enjoy the pictures (you don't need a Facebook account to view them):

Nice pics!! I like that 60's Glen L flatbottom, classic v-drive flatties are just plain cool!! We have a classic/antique boat show on my lake in July every year, they do fly-bys and a regatta too, always a good time. Several years back i got a ride in a vintage 60's flatbottom SK roundy round boat called the "Screamin' Meemie IV", i will never forget that!! 85 MPH skipping across the water on a sled, wow what a rush!!

I love the old wood, even saw a few out on Lake Norman last night for the fireworks. my neighboor has a 57 Chris Craft cuddy partially restored.
