This is my new to me Biesemeyer Flat Bottom Ski Boat. I haven't been able to confirm the year but it should be 58', 59' or in that range.

The tow bar looks to be home made and is coming out. She solid with now leaks just needs a sanding and some paint and then to find a motor for it in the 50 to 100 hp range.

Awesome Boat!!! I think the tow bar would look good in chrome! it kind of matches the design of the boat. the steering wheel would look great with the center chromed and the grips in black!! good luck on it.

The ski bar was homemade and pretty crude. I actually took if off today for good. As for the steering wheel it's all metal and will likely get a chemical strip and then put back to white again which was the original color.

Well we will see how today goes. I located a red label Mercury 65 HP motor that is listed as "runs great" on CL for $300.00. I'm gonna go take a look at it Monday afternoon and if it checks out hopefully it'll be coming home with me. What years were they black and red?

Not sure, but you should ask the seller for the serial number before you go up there to check it out. There are several resources on the internet where you can check the age based on the serial number.

That will be a nice little classic setup once you put it all together. Good luck with it!

Be patient w/ your selection of a motor. If that is the motor you are looking at for $300; pass; it's a parts motor at best and I wouldn't offer more than $75. You can find a older merc with much better cosmetics and truly "runs great" for the same price. There will always be another deal around the corner; hold out for what you really want because it will eventually show.

FYI here are a couple of links that should help in identifying year model of older mercs
