Hey guys, I just bought two low hour Merc 3.0L 225's for my 2800 so I'm going to sell my 2.5's. Twin counter rotating 1994 Mercury 2.5L 200hp Offshore Outboards with super clean 1998 Cowls & Skirts. Strong compression across all 12 cylinders (135lbs +), 25" mids, powder coated 2 hole CLE gear cases with new waterpumps & gear oil. Motors run strong and push my 2800 to 67mph gps!! They will eventually need swivel pins replaced but are usable as is. $6995

It's kind of hard to say no to a couple of 200 hour 3 liter carb motors that put out about 240 hp... ...not to mention the plate I built will allow me to run the 3.0L motors at 24" centers!

Mercury understated their hp in the mid 90's to gain an edge on the competition. Motor manufacturers were allowed roughly a 10% leeway in advertised hp numbers. The carb motors are pretty potent!
