Checkmate interior resto mod. Let me know what you think.

Man, that looks great. Can you give me the link for those seats? I had some similar in my cart but they sold out. I need grey/blue just like that.

Excellent job. I’m 70 myself so I’ve really slowed down. Been redoing a gutted 1979 Enchanter. Did the transom, knees and support last month and just finished stringer, foam and glassing in floor. No upholstery steering motor….

JT, JT, the link you mention does nor work. Would love to see them, too, as I am redoing everything to a 1979 Enchanter.

    Foam Under the deck

From what I’ve seen and read, the high density foam that is now available is closed cell and will not absorb water. I know I just removed 8 very water saturated heavy chunks out of my Enchanter. Steve

    Foam vs balsa

Thanks Karzrus. Yes, I’ve seen numerous videos where they pour in 2 part foam and they caution to be sure of vents because it could blow out a floor or hole in the bottom because it expands so much. Apparently it fills in everywhere. That is info I was looking for. Thank you, Steve

    Foam vs balsa

The foam I was meaning was the pour in 2 part foam and not the foam board. Was really hoping someone had experience or point me in the right direction. I have always loved Checkmates. Steve

    Foam vs balsa

I am 70 yrs old. Simply looking for a winter project. I built a 16’ runabout for a retirement project that I finished in 2020. Trying to stay busy. The foam not absorbing water and it filling the whole compartment was the reason I was thinking it over balsa. Steve

    Foam vs balsa

I have put down a deposit on a 1979 Enchanter at a salvage yard. It has been sitting outside in the Ga weather for some time with weeds and such growing. There is no DNR sticker so I don’t know when it was last in the water. After ripping out everything, was wondering pros and cons of foam or...
