I'm guessing you're looking to move up to a new 2400?
I'd be very surprised if the wake isn't nice and flat just like all other Checkmate outboards. Unless you're pulling professional skiers all the time, you'll want to have a lower pitch prop just for that purpose so people can get up easier.
HD,
I've never skied behind a 2100 or a 2400, but I'll tell you what I know based on the sportfire, 'liner, 30 years of skiing and alot of time behind malibu's and mastercrafts.
No OB checkie is going to pull or hold speed like a competition ski boat. BUT, with my 225 EFI and a 19P prop, I can pull a big slalomer up fast enough. I'd say you would want the 300 on a 2400 and you could prop it down and have plenty o' power.
24' is getting pretty big for a slalom boat, but checkies do throw a pretty small wake - I'd figure a bit bigger wake than your old 'liner. The 2400 would probably be a great wakeboard boat though! I bet with some ballast, you'd have a huge wake.
My 'liner with about 900 lbs of ballast makes makes enough wake for me to do this... I've got another 400 lb bag I'm going to try next weekend.
