2100 pulsare cd

as of now i'm a friend of mine is looking at possably selling his 2100 pulsare cd and upgrading to a new one.. on it he has a 3.0 225 xri blackmax i believe.. is it worth it if i buy this boat to switch it out to a 2.5 liter or a bigger 3.0 like a 250? what kinda speed difference from a 3.0 225 to a 250? regardless it will be a lil faster than my 1850 with my 175 efi....this also means that in spring my 96 1850 cd with 99 175 merc will be for sale...with new hydrolic stearing...hydrolic jackplate those sorts a goodies..

Newer motors are better on gas, but stay with a 3.0. I had a new 200 2.5 carb motor on a 21 and it ran 66.5 on GPS. I later put a 3.0 200 Opti on the same boat, and it ran 72.4 mph.
Tell your friend to call me for a price on a new boat before he buys one.

yah definatly i'll tell him to give you a call about them. with a 3.0 i wouldn't need as much setback then correct? i believe he has 8 inches as of right now on it..... the 225 3.0 is more "torquee" than a 2.5 225 so in theory i would be able to spin more prop?

It will run and handle better with 12"-14" of setback. A 26" Trophy or Fury prop will work great. A 24" or 25" if you carry more people.

Claupie just verified my guess. I'm sure with everything being ideal low fuel, weight, water etc. you may see 82-83.

well the 225.. will be fine for a lil while assuming i buy it... i would just assume go right for the 300xs then... seems like only 4-5 mph faster than a 225 so one would just jump for the 300 then..

not sure yet... i might get a good friend discount.. i'll post a number as soon as he tells me... its a 95 pulsare but he's the type of guy who waxes it everytime he goes out and its just as clean as a new boat EXCELLENT shape even the upholstery.... once he gives me a number i'll post it and u guys can let me know what you think on the number although he's my best friend so the number will be good.. then i can work on selling my 186 cd
