I've determined that the transom will need to come out of my '79 Eluder, and I want to do it with as little trauma to the boat as possible.
I spent the summer replacing the transom, stringer, and deck in my little fish-n-ski (yeah, I know - I gotta be crazy doing this twice in the same year). It was a total pain seperating the transom from the rear of the splashwell on that boat, partly because there was very limited access to the transom in that area. I wound up having to cut out a portion of fiberglass from on top of the transom and dig/beat out the filler which bonded the transom and splashwell together.
There's far better access from below in the Eluder, so hopefully I can avoid having to leave any scars. I'd appreciate any advice on tools and methods others have used to seperate the transom from splashwell on their 'mates.
thanks
