October 2013's Boat of the Month Vote!

Wow, guess I'll have to get with Bill and see if we can't set up a professional photographer shoot! I see the "other" picture has a professional photographers signature on it. Guess that's what matters here. So sorry about the quality, best we could be prepared for the day after he bought it. Have to make sure I go buy a Nikon or Canon before ever offering up pictures again.

Maybe, don't let a 3 year old take a terrible picture. Professional not needed, maybe just someone that would shoot an attractive angle, perhaps with some sunlight... jeez, maybe even on plane running a little bit? Action shots are pretty popular 'round here.

Bahh.. there I go. It's a right of passage, he wrote a big check, he ought just be the BOTM.

Can't we all get along? maybe my eyes are bad but both pictures look to be of the same quality. there is a picture of the punisher in action but that was not the one nominated. here it is

but it is great that Chris allows us as members to chose which picture get to be on the entrance page. Most other forums do not give their members the ability to do that. I would hate to see Chris take this away because member start to fight over which boat is winning.

but that is my take! Take it or leave it I don't care it is just my opinion.

All very nice boats this month as always ,thanks Chris. This is the top 10 reasons the Punisher did not get picked for boat of the month. Just having a little fun with this so If this hurts your feelings bwahhhaahHaaaaa
1. It is so nice some people get a little Jealous
2. It is so nice some people get a little Jealous

4. It is so big it wont fit in the picture properly ( yep Bill has the biggest one around here)
5. Its to big in this little boat world.
6. You cant scramble eggs with it. ( but sure would mix some concrete)
7. Maybe a repaint . This is a Red Boat world.
8. Maybe mix a little oil in the gas . Just not quite enough smoke.
9. Maybe a front shot on plane where you cant even see the boat to well.
10. Its just to nice and some people get a little just a little Jealous.


Just having fun and just MY Opinion. Sorry if I hurt any feelings Sometimes the truth hurts.
If you have an ugly boat like I do you never have to worry about BOTM.

Bills boat is the most beautiful and amazing boat to ever come out of Bucyrus and Checkmate should be very proud of this beast.

it just amazes me that people are getting so butt hurt about the fact that SOMEBODY ELSE"S boat isn't winning BOTM. Lets look at facts here.....I'm guessing that around 75-80% of Checkmates are outboard powered boats that are 21ft and less. So I'm guessing that the membership % of this forum is about the same. SO most people are going to vote with what they like, or a boat like theirs. And lets face it, that Pulsare is setting right and straight gettin it in that pic!! its an awesome picture. Now if owning the fastest AS WELL AS the biggest checkmate isn't enough to feed your ego, and you have to have the "elusive title of Boat Of the Month" to feed your ego, then you have problems. But since Bill isn't posting here, and doesn't seem to care, I don't think that is the case at all. I'm sure your buddies boat will win BOTM on more than one occasion, and you can tell all your friends and co-workers "That's my buddies boat that is going to be on the homepage for the next 30 days!!". I just pray to the boat gods that the members here don't have the nerve to vote it BOTM in the month of February, the shortest month of the year, what a disgrace. Boy the poop will really hit the fan then!!

Man, you can tell winter is on its way, thats when I step away from this forum.

Guys, come-on......it's supposed to be a fun little thing, let's not ruin it.

The truth is that all five of the boats are beautiful in their own way and each one could be a winner for one reason or another.

Big deal....so; one boat is the biggest, one is the oldest, one is fastest, one is rarest, one is an outboard....one is a inboard....one has the best photo-graphy quality.....it's all great but unfortunately only one boat can be a winner each month.

It's actually rare that any boat wins on the first month it makes it in, we've had some eventual winners literally win after many months of surviving contest after contest.

You got it dead on Chris.

Some people like eggs over easy, some like scrambled, and others like cereal for breakfast. Arguing over which is better is silly. Personally I like an action shot. I don't know Eddie, never had any interaction with him, and despite my joking around about car motah vs egg beatah I couldn't care less if it was a Merc or JohnnyRude hanging off the back or a V-8 sitting in front of the transom because that boat is straight up gettin' after it right there.

Something that has to be noted is it takes a much wilder ride to make that big boat look like it's in serious action than a small boat.

No conspiracies, no hating, no voting for someone cause he's my buddy, just voting for what I think is the best picture. Hell, I voted for Keith's boat a few months ago and he beat me by one vote but I didn'tccomplain. I won the next month.

No expensive photographers either time I won, just a good shot running hard with a nice background. Spence's BOTM shot was taken by me with his camera and I stink at photography but I did my best and snapped a bunch of pics as he went by.

Whoever wins I think the BOTM here means so much because we vote and decide ourselves.

Thank you to everyone who's boat was in this month's contest, I appreciate you being graceful enough to allow us to use your shots.

I would be VERY proud to own any of this months boats myself they're all great Checks.

Hell....they're all better than mine! LOL!

Moving on to next months contest to try again....

i agree on that.

my opinion is also that even a bad shape checkmate can make it to BOTM if the picture is done right.

it's a photocontest and not which one is the coolest boat. or the most money or horsepower.
