Here is a picture of the Merc we had when I was 12-17 yrs young!

45 HP with 4 cyl
"Single Lever Full Gear Shift"
I think it had a second lever (Black) for extra throttle. (Cold Start)
It was electric start without an alternator!
The pull cord got a great deal of use!

We were running it on a 14' Starcraft.
27mph speedo WOT!!
Will try to find a video of it. May be on 8mm film!
 
My Brother had transferred all of the old 8mm to VHS.
I have the VHS in hand. There is a short clip of the ol Merc in action.
Will get it posted this weekend.

Memories........

There may also be a good shot of a '68 Johnson 85HP which I learned to
waterski behind. Will look for it on the tape.
