I was wondering what is the biggest motor someone has put on these boats and what kind of numbers you got speed wise and how it handled. I'm looking to repower mine and need some ideas. It had a 1985 175 merc and hit 65 would like to go faster

Hopefully ndaniels will be around to help- he's got a 225 with some other setup stuff and is almost to 78.

I bought the 175 off him for another boat I have he said his handles great Ias thinking of a bridgeport or something for mine. did they change the length of the exciter in the later years or no?

I Have a 83" with 350 I/O 26p prop had it the low 60 but she had a lot
more in her. but I just love this boat and don't want blow anything.
