1992 CONVINCOR W/502 OVERHEATING!!!!!

I just picked up my MATE from winter storage, and cleaned it up. I put it in the water and after idling for around 8 minutes the temp started rising beyond what was the norm. It climbed to around 200 when I shut her down. It was sent out for winterizing, and ran great the last time I had her out. Could the seawater pump be bad? Or does it have a circulation pump like on a truck? Any help would be great!

yes its got a circ pump.. and a raw h20 pump.. your raw water pump is supposed to be serviced at least once a year.. since you winter lay up... this should have been done prior to launch... ((not lay up)) as the rubber forms a shape and tends not to push as much water over time. circ pumps go bad too.. however not as often as raw water pumps... look for signs of corrosion dripping from the backside of the circ pump... and right behind the pully.. on the bottom side... there are more things that cause overheating... but the raw water pump would be the first to check out.. run it on a flush... and see if its pumping water..

You guys are awesome....the MATE is back on track! Just a little fresh water pump rebuild was all she needed. Thanks again for the help!
