27" Mirage Plus Labbed by Mercury Racing

This is a new in box Mirage plus 27". Never been in the water. I had an exact copy of this prop on my boat last year. With 1300HP I cracked one of the blades. Mercury Racing replaced it with this new Labbed 27" Mirage. I have no intentions of breaking this one so it's for sale. Hopefully to someone with less HP.

Retail is $995 I paid $875 and I'll sell it for $550

You can buy a new mirage for close to the same price, but the lab finish will give you at least 2-3mph extra.

If your interested, let me know quickly. I plan to list it on OSO in a day or so, and it probably won't last long.

im interested, just dont know yet if the pitch is gonna be ok. i wont know what hp ill have for about two weeks!! thanks
kevin

What HP, weight, speed (GPS), Prop, and drive ratio did you have before the new power. Also what is your estimate for this new engine HP? With this info I can tell you if it's even a possibility.

I'm interested too.89 Senator,about 3500 lbs,454-330 HP with EMI exhaust,Jacobs ignition,1.5 ratio,72 MPH GPS,hitting rev limiter now with a 25 mirage 3 blade.

Whats your RPM at 72mph? It looks like this prop would be perfect for you.

This prop should drop you 200rpm and gain 3mph easy. I do however think your numbers might be off a bit. Presently you’re at about 5% slip. Which is not really possible in a V-hull. You are either at a higher rpm (Gauges could be off) or your gps speed is a little off. Either way this is still the fastest prop for you. Every mate I've had loves the mirage plus for top speed if you’re around 70mph.

I would be concerned with your rpm exceeding 4700, so you need more pitch no matter what.

Gauges are probably off, their 15 years old.Lots of hours on them.Don't like the fact that the tach bounces above 4600 RPM , should replace it before boating season .
Got a phone # I can call you at?
What kind of holeshot can I expext with this prop? The mirage didn't have enough stern lift , digs a hole about 6' deep on take-off.
Redboat

Holeshot will never be that great with a mirage. 4 bladed bravo would be better for hole shot. If your after top speed the mirage is 3-4 mph faster. You can't have the best of both worlds.

The speed limit on Glen Lake is 55 MPH. Marine patrol is only here for a couple of hours a day . I'll call Sunday if thats all right.

It could be hard to find me Sunday until the evening. If you can't get me on Sunday you can reach me on Monday 845 246 0458 9-5 eastern

sounds like a great prop deal for redboat...............but for sake of discussion here....
242 convincor, i expect 550hp, aprox 4600 lbs, with a 330 (i think, its the carb motor) it would run a 23 mirage plus 4600 at 58 mph.

what do you think?
kevin

no rev limit but i expect the cam to make power to5500-5800, will know more on the dyno....will try to keep it around 5300-5400 i think!!

It's probably not the right prop for you. At 5500RPM you would be over 80mph easy. Problem is your short quite a bit of HP to get there. The 23 you have should be good for 70mph. Try it first then a 25 mirage might be necessary.
If you’re running Hydraulic lifters, 5800rpm is too much, keep it under 5500rpm or the valve train will destroy itself real quick.

Dave, Did you get the check for the prop and get it shipped out ? Check was in Monday's mail. I had not heard or seen anything... just curious. Thanks, Kelly
