2more mint convincors for sale!!

That top one does not look like a 1998 model. I think it might be about 10 years older than that.
That's what I was thinking, unless it's true that Checkmate brought that mold back for 18 boats??? But the condition of it looks like a 1998! It's Super Clean!

There's another thread around here somewhere about that particular boat. I thought the same thing, it was older, but according to the owner it's a legit '98 and Checkmate built a few GTX "classic" models that year. I personaly am in love with that boat, it's a fair price but out of my reach, if i had the money tho that boat would be mine no questions asked!!!

hello everyone. the 98 251 is mine. the boat IS a 1998 model. when i sold my last check (2001 219 persuader) this is the boat i went looking for and new it would be hard to find because of them only making about 18 of them. (according to mike combs) there is only a handful of them out there, and to find one in great shape is hard. they made them from late 98 to 99, if you find a 1999 brochure you will see the boat in it with the flag graphic on it. they called it the "classic" and they made the original 251 from i belive 1986-87 up to 1993-94 when the 253 started making an apperance. (the 251 is reported, that it is about 2 mph faster than the 253, with same engine opition becuase of weight and 89" beam) and if you look at the pics of the boat, it has the modern bolsters not the 2 legged bolsters with the swing to side bottom seat, look at the railing down the bow, its modern, it doesnt stop with a quick downward end and comes all the way back into the glass, doesnt stop with a blunt end, the modern cabinets in the cabin, and most of all the swim platform. it soesnt have the 2 fiberglass swim steps with the exhaust between them. i have put alot of money and time and tears in this boat to make it look the way it does. no fiberglass work or interior work(all original) just upgrades. like: motor, and billet acc., all brand new gaffrig gauges w digital gps, ignition w/box, i could go on and on. but i wont bore you. the boat is in damn near perfect shape. (you can eat out of the bilge.) and as for my price($33,000) i looked at the market and 1997-up 253's are going for anywhere from $29,000-$36,000 with stock power (502ci w/415 hp. and some with 454's)with alot of hours. so i dont think im high on the price, if any im low. given ALL the upgrades ive done. thanks for all the comments. just thought i would let you guys know a little about the boat and put in my $.02. thanks again.:thumb:

ThrottleTherapy,
I gave 25k for my '96 253 with a 502 last June. I think I gotta pretty fair deal, as the boat was in excellent condition. Much better than most of the other JUNK I looked at in that price range.
Given that your boat is 2 years newer with more power and a bonafide limited production model, I think your price is fair. You just gotta find the right buyer.
Good Luck, that is a beautiful boat.

thank you fireguy, i know everyone is saying its a buyers market, but the thing is i dont HAVE to sell my boat. i just would like to switch it up alittle and do something different. if i cant get close to $33,000 for it i will probablly hold on to it. i just have to much money in the motor and acc. to let it go for any less. ive done some searching and i believe im also in the ball park with the price. thanks again for everyones comments. i appreciate it!

T/T it is only a buyers market based on two conditions 1 If you have to sell or how bad you want your next boat. Other then that keep to the # you got in your head and stick it out.:bigthumb:
After pricing new myself
Why should you give such a beautiful boat away-- Replacement cost new would be at leat double!!!

thank you check this, i looked up the boat value on nada guides with the options, and they did not have my motor size or hp. so i just did the highest hp. which was 500 hp. mine is 550-570 hp. and i have so many extra options on my boat with the motor acc. and gauges and etc. and the used value was $29,085 and that DOES NOT include trailer with disc brakes and new tires. so i still think im in the ball park with the price. suggested dealer price was over $47,000.00., with out trailer.:surf:
