50years ago Has the Game Changed That much?

Those men had big kahunas in the day. I don't believe there is any comparison between todays racing and racing in the 60s-80s era. Love the videos.
 
I agree. Even though the speeds are higher now, The technology was just starting out and the earlier boats were much more dangerous. Sought of like comparing NASA's mercury program to the eventual shuttle flights which just looked routine. Both are dangerous but I think you needed a bigger pair play the game in the early years for both, Bigtime.
