All Pics Are Little Red X's

hotdaddy27

Well-known member
I run Internet Explorer and all the pics in the Affiliates Column to the left of the page and all pics in peoples Sigs are just little red X's.

The only pics that I can see are in the albums and the ones that I must sign in to open (jpegs usually).

Any suggestions??

I am having the same problems on S&F.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like some of your security settings are jacked up too high.

It could be your virus protection, firewall or windows security settings.

You could also try slightly lowering your security settings temporarily to see if that resolves the issue for you.

You could also try setting our site and Scream and Fly as trusted sites, so that your security settings are slightly lower when you're on our sites.

It is only on my work computer and they have recently done some upgrades.

I tried some of the security settings, but not all.

I will try again.

Thanks Chris.

Well if it's at work, they could have a pretty serious firewall in place.

In order to use certain parts of the site, there has to be some "handshakes" between a user's computer and our server. If there isn't that bit of communication back and forth then our server doesn't serve some things up, images being one example.

The other problem that can arise when a user's security settings are cranked up, is that they sometimes find that they have issues whereby they don't stay logged into the board. That can stem from the forum cookie not being set properly when logging in, or it can relate, again, to a lack of communication back and forth between our server and a user's computer.
