Barrier Coats

Several years ago I had a Chris Craft that most people said I should apply a barrier coat which I did every other year.I purchased a ZT280 last year, the boat is moored on Lake Champlain from April to October and I am uncertain of the barrier coat. Doe anyone know if Checkmate applies any type of barrier coat and if not what do the rest of you guys that leave their boats in fresh water do?

Checkmate's gell finish is like most everyone elses. If you leave it sit in the water, it'll eventually blister, and if you have a few certain colors it may discolor too.

The only thing I know of besides applying anti-fouling paint with epoxy primer is a product called SCAT wich is like a real thick wax that you spray on with a pump spayer.
