Mines a 2002 496HO and since purchase back in 2018 I've seen several claims online about hull doesn't handle well, but no-one has elaborated on the issue.

I'm running local river. What lake you talking about?I hope it handles good. You're steering arm will get a workout dodging debris on the lake from after last weeks storms. It's still messy, alot of driftwood floating around.
We only go to Raystown once a year, late September.I'm sorry, I just assumed that you were running Raystown Lake in Huntington Co.
That’s what he told me also but doesn’t look like they are in stock yet. After talking to hydromotive he suggested Hydromotive Quad 4-X prop which I like better than bravo
So do you have any bounce with your 270?Mines a 2002 496HO and since purchase back in 2018 I've seen several claims online about hull doesn't handle well, but no-one has elaborated on the issue.

Yes under about 40 unless I use tabs. without tabs slight steer left and right mostly stops that and doesn't give the hull a chance to start bounce. So do you have any bounce with your 270?
I think being deep V doesn't help low speed handling. I don't add trim until above about 40, but if U se tabs I can cruise about 30 and adding trim then helps.I have a 2013 convincor 270 (I believe the last one built in Ohio before Checkmate went into receivership) with the 502 running a bravo 4 blade...130 hours on it...and trim tabs...I do not get alot of bounce but i leave the drive mostly trimmed in and the tabs up after planing....Im not a big fan of the way it handles at low speeds but it seems fine at speed.
