Convincor Switch Panel Question

I'm looking to replace the switch panel on a 1987 251 Convincor (I know, my posts keep stating 88, I'm losing it in my old age) The switch panel to the right of the helm contains the horn, blower, bilge, lights and hatch switches. I'm looking to replace the panel with one from Eddie Marine with the Carling type switches. The factory panel has all push button breakers on the right side of the panel. Are these really necessary? ( I'm looking to eliminate these to make room for the new switches) Everything already runs through a fuse panel. Any one done this? Looking for any suggestions or input. Panel is right of steering wheel
